Warwich

Warwich (/warwich / [Translation Unavailable]) is a subtropical Town located in Jiopujuke County, Ruwia County, within the Kingdom of Helsteria.

The name Warwich is derived from the Sylvin language, as Warwich was founded by Brg̈mesí Farrimond, who was culturaly Sylvin.

Climate

Warwich has a yearly average temperature of 27°C (80°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 32°C (89°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 23°C (73°F). Warwich receives an average of 233 cm/y (91 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Warwich covers an area of nearly 6 km² (2 mi²), and an average elevation of 3730 m (12237 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Warwich was founded durring the early 11th century, by Brg̈mesí Farrimond. The establishment of Warwich suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Warwich was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the early 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Warwich is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Warwich is buildings folow an organic layout of broad gravel streets whihch gives the town a shape simmilar to a tree, if one views its streets from above. The town sits comfortably behind a palisade wall complete with a timber gatehouse and battlments. Unfortuantly, these timber-based walls are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

Right off the bat Warwich hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this town has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things.

Warwich has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Warwich . They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Warwich 's parks.

Cultural Notes

Warwich 's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its fluid and florid elaborate style, comprising ornate, asymmetric designs and pastel shades. It is often considered to be a playful, light style, which made exuberant use of curves and emphasized subtle asymmetry in the general shape of its structures. Walls, ceilings and moldings are decorated with numerous interlacing of curves and counter-curves based on the shapes of ‘C’ and ‘S’, along with shell forms and other naturalistic shapes.

In Warwich the utterance of expletives is impossible within city limits. This has changed as the limits have changed, but has not kept up with slang, or swearing in foreign languages.
